The overseeing Bishop of Resurrection Church, Christ Covenant Coalition, Brooklyn, went on to say that the days when a pastor could stand up and preach the Word of God as it was written, without fear of retribution, are almost gone.

Mattera believes that since same-gender marriages have become legal in quite a few states and the re-definition of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was upheld by the Supreme Court, the next step will be to force pastors to perform gay wedding ceremonies. He adds that the government or courts will not take into account that a pastor may feel that performing a gay marriage is against his religious convictions, because they will just force him to do so under the threat of fines or possible imprisonment.
The writer, conservative activist, radio host and journalist goes on to say that states are not allowed to make laws against same-gender marriages, even if the majority of their constituents are in agreement with those laws. He adds that laws banning same-gender marriages in California, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin have come under attack from federal judges who have overturned those laws on the grounds of discrimination.
If pastors do not make a stand now for what they believe and defend their religious principles, they will soon be forced into performing same-gender marriages as they have been in Denmark, said Mattera.
In conclusion, Mattera states that “The country we love and serve has turned against God’s moral law and the legal system that once protected Bible-believing churches is now turned against them.” He continues, “To recover our nation’s Biblical values, America not only needs revival—she desperately needs a reformation.”
