For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. This Kingdom of God that many claim to want so much is not about what their hearts are mostly focused on (socialising - being liked and liking)! Rather, it's about living a righteous life in Jesus Christ - in His Peace and Joy through the Holy Spirit! The believer must strive always to think, do and speak whatever leads to peace and mutual edification! Can we change our focus please? Can you? Will you?
Honor widows who are real widows. If a widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn their religious duty to their own family and make some return to their parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God. 1 Timothy 5:3-5 RSV
Note that the Bible talks about "real widows"! You can make of it what you like but I think somewhere in the Bible, it is described that real widows are those women who had been faithful to marriage, husband, family and children and lost their spouse! They deserve to be looked after. If your parents have been faithful to do right by you, they deserve to be looked after when they're old! In taking care of them, you would be pleasing God. Even if they haven't looked after their responsibilities to you, you can take care of them to the best of your ability; but God Rewards Faithfulness! I'm not arguing!!!
And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ. Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:9-11 KJV
This is about doing the right thing; thinking, doing and speaking aright whilst approving the same! This is what the fruits of righteousness is all about! Only Jesus Christ Can Enable these! So, come to know Him and let Him Work Wonders in your life. Amen!!!
