There’s no use in crying over spilled milk, right?
After experiencing a nasty public split with her husband, Lamar Sally, Sherri Shepherd is ready to move on. As previously reported, The View co-host abruptly filed divorce from her husband of nearly three years.
Initially, she remained tight-lipped about the situation, but broke her silence, the other night (June 10) at the Samsung Hope for Children Gala in NYC. During an interview with Us Weekly, she shared:
I say you can’t beat yourself up, when you know you’ve made the wrong choice in a guy…You look,
You do some introspective work, and you try not to make the same mistake.
She continued:
If you do, get back up, dust your feet off, and start walking and moving forward.
The 47-year-old credits her close friends, as helping with the split:
Have really good friends around you, so you have a soft landing place. I have really amazing friends.
She added:
I hope that my character and my integrity will scream louder. There’s always someone worse off than you…You have to really sit down and be thankful for the things that you have….When the dust settles, you figure out what went wrong—but as long as you’re alive and you can breathe, you [can] get up and keep going. For me, my child can’t afford to see Mommy having a nervous breakdown. It’s not in the cards.
Sherri has an 8-year-old son Jeffrey (whom she shares with first husband Jeff Tarpley). Reportedly, she has asked for full legal and physical custody of her yet-to-be-born baby (via surrogate) in the divorce filing. Their child is due sometime this summer.
