While they were eating, He took some bread, and after a blessing He broke it, and gave it to them, and said, "Take it; this is My body." And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. And He said to them, "This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. Truly I say to you, I will never again drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God." After singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Mark 14:22-26 NASBThe symbolic eating and drinking of the Body and the Blood of Jesus Christ is very significant in terms of the "new" Covenant through the Blood of Jesus! Jesus Christ Gave this Ordinance to remember Him by for all time! How prophetic and symbolic! This is one Ordinance that must never be taken lightly; because you cannot partake of it inappropriately without dire consequences! You better be prepared and do this right in Jesus' Name. Many have died and or fallen sick for partaking inappropriately! Beware!!!
Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, "Sit here while I pray." And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch." He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him. 36And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will."
Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words. And when He returned, He found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him. Then He came the third time and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough! The hour has come; behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand." Mark 14:32-41 NKJV
Jesus Christ was fully human and IS fully God! This is the greatest mystery of our faith! Jesus sorrowed even unto death. He was so troubled in spirit that he sweated practically as blood drops; and prayed that the "cup" be taken from Him if possible but not His Will but God's be done! Note that Jesus Had Taken aside Peter, James and John in this regard; but had stepped away from then slightly for this particular experience! By the time He rejoined them, they were sleeping! Jesus noted that the spirit may be willing, but the flesh is weak. It was time for the betrayer to play his card as Judas approached with the arresting crowd! Blessed be the Name of the Lord! Halleluyah!! Amen!!!
I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Matthew 10:16 (NIVUK)
When you go out into the fields of ministry, remember you are out as sheep amongst wolves. You must be wise and shrewd as snakes and humble and innocent as doves! This is a strategy that works all the time and yields results. Do not take anything for granted; but honour the Lord in all that you think, speak and or do!!!
(7) "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. Exodus 20:7
The Name of the Lord is so Holy and so important and must never be used willy nilly and or in vain! If you violate this Ordinance, you will not be held guiltless; i.e. you will be disciplined! Hmmm! So, anything Godly is a very serious matter for humankind to take very seriously; or else be very sorry! May God Help us to honour His Name always in Jesus' Name. Amen!!!
