Prayer for many has become like lottery; a perfunctory wish thinking directed without any real focus or passion - and if it works it works, if not, so be it, just blame God! However, from the above Scripture, confidence comes from faith; knowing in a very focused and humble way that your God Will Answer your prayer and or petition!!!
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

When sick, what do you do really? Do you even care to call upon the Name of the Lord? Do you care to call upon the elders to come and pray for you? Where are the elders anyway today? How about confessions? Who do you confess to in today's world that will not betray you? Where are the believers today? Hmmm. Father God, we need Your Help; please, do not abandon us to the world in Jesus' Name. Amen!!!
When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. Matthew 6:5,6 NASB
Prayer for some people has become practically like a profession and for the show of it! Why and how do you pray? Search your heart and conscience! What moves you to pray? Are you indeed moved to pray for the love of God or rather of your needs? It is the love for and faith in God that drives the true believer to pray to God; a God you know WILL Answer your prayers; nothing else should come in between this communication with God in all humility and holiness! If you are praying inappropriately and with the wrong motives, do you really expect your prayers to be answered? Why bother then? There is a sure reward only for prayer that is guided and directed aright and appropriately. God is a good God, yes, He is!!!
(41) "There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. (42) And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?" (43) Simon answered and said, "I suppose the one whom he forgave more." And He said to him, "You have rightly judged." (44) Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. (45) You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. (46) You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. (47) Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little." (48) Then He said to her, "Your sins are forgiven." It is no wonder that the Lord Said to the children of Israel that the prostitutes, tax collectors and the people seen as vile and most sinful and abhorred in the land are entering in to the Kingdom of God ahead of them! Indeed, when you have been forgiven much, your appreciation increases based upon your perceived gravity of your sinfulness. Many who see themselves as not so sinful cannot really appreciate God for who He really is and as such miss out on tremendous amounts of Grace and Mercy because of their underlying cockiness, pride and arrogance of spirit and heart! However, to the humble, who see themselves as sinners who need God's Mercy, mercy is released in abundance! Big lesson in humility; anyone listening?!!
