He told them another parable: 'The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.' Matthew 13:31-32 (NIVUK)
The mustard seed is the smallest of all seeds; it is however completely transformed when it is planted! It then grows into a great big tree with lots of branches where birds come and perch; with a great big shade where mankind come to rest awhile from the scorching heat of the sun! What great potential in a tiny mustard seed. Jesus used this analogy in the parable to explain to the people what the Kingdom of Heaven is like. Hmmm. How very interesting. I want that Kingdom. I want to be a part of that Kingdom. I want to be in that Kingdom. I want to spend Eternity in that Kingdom. Anyone joining me? Jesus please make it possible for me to be with You in that Kingdom. The great big Kingdom Powered by faith. So much so that if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, be removed and located in the sea and it will obey you! Hmmm. That is the power of faith. Amen!!!
(8) By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. Hebrews 11:8
What is faith that makes it so powerful as a force; so powerful that it lights up a whole life or even race? Faith is not seeing is believing. Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you have not seen. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things unseen! Even though you have not seen it, you believe you have received it. Faith does not make sense; it's not supposed to! Faith is not about sense (common or not)! Abraham was called to go out to a place he knew not and without a clue as to what would happen to him or how things would pan out! He just got up and went! That place was his inheritance (he was given that place). Had he not obeyed, he would have lost his heritage! This is the lot of the disobedient! Will you obey henceforth? Hmmm! Please Help us o God!!!
