For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat." We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat.

There is a football game we used to play as children growing up in Ibadan, Nigeria called "work and jeba" or "work and eat" (another name for "o", "j", "o", "ojo")! You allow the ball to bounce three times and the game starts. It's a local fairplay way of starting the game without favoring any of the two teams playing. In a way it's about struggling for the ball from the start and if your team scores, that's your gain! Reflect on this in terms of the Scripture above and it begins to make new sense though the contents are very obvious. The message is very clear; do not be idle. For the devil finds work for idle hands according to the wisdom of our elders. Otherwise you become busy bodies and gossip mongers when idle. The Word is laid down that if a man will not work, there shall be no food for him. You must work for your takings and or food or things you need! May God Help us to understand and appreciate this principle emphasizing value for hard work which is today lacking in most societies! In Jesus' Name. Amen!!!
The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain. Proverbs 15:19 KJV
Life is never easy for the lazy man at all; his life is not enviable. Do not be like him; it will not profit you at all. However, laziness is not part of righteousness; for the life of a righteous man is made plain, less complicated. This is the Word of God. Take heed and be blessed in Jesus' Name. Amen!!!
Here is what I have seen to be good and fitting: to eat, to drink and enjoy oneself in all one's labor in which he toils under the sun during the few years of his life which God has given him; for this is his reward. Furthermore, as for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, He has also empowered him to eat from them and to receive his reward and rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God. Ecclesiastes 5:18,19 NASB]
If God Grants you means to acquire wealth and riches, He Enables you to profit from, benefit and enjoy from your largess! This is God's way of Rewarding your bother or your hustle Rejoice, be grateful to God and remember the poor; because all of this comes from the Lord and it will pleas God that you remember the poor!!!
At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the reports about Jesus, and he said to his attendants, 'This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead! That is why miraculous powers are at work in him.' Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, for John had been saying to him: 'It is not lawful for you to have her.' Herod wanted to kill John, but he was afraid of the people, because they considered John a prophet. Matthew 14:1-5 (NIVUK)
Righteousness always attracts persecution. Jesus Christ was so targeted ultimately as was John the Baptist, whom Herod had reason to hate and want dead because he preached against him having his brother's wife. He later killed him. When he heard about Jesus Christ he thought John had arisen from the dead to haunt him perhaps. This is the Word of God; nobody who follows Jesus Christ faithfully will not be persecuted. May God Grant us strength with courage and resolve to follow Him faithfully in Jesus' Name. Amen!!!
(3) Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 2 Thessalonians 2:3
(9) The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, (10) and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (11) And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, (12) that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
The Day of the Lord will not come until the lawless man of perdition has been revealed, the man os sin! The revelation of that man will include and involve the manifestation of satanic power with the working of miracles, signs and lying wonders. This will occur with the unrighteous deception amongst those perishing because they did not receive the love of truth unto salvation. For this reason, God Will Send them a strong delusion to believe lies so they can be condemned who rather than believe the truth reveled in unrighteousness! Beware and be warned! If you want to be saved, work according to and walk in the way of righteousness in Jesus' Name. Amen!!!
