VETERAN SINGER ANDREA DUMAS STEPS INTO SPOTLIGHT WITH DEBUT CD ‘CELEBRATE’ | @andreadumasdc

Veteran gospel vocalist Andrea Dumas who has backed up a who’s who of the gospel world has finally stepped from the backstage shadows into the spotlight. The dynamic soprano’s debut CD “Celebrate” (Autumn Day Entertainment) is a fusion of spirited praise and worship songs and heartfelt gospel tunes. The sixteen-track project is now available online at the iTunes Store, Amazon.com and other retail stores throughout the USA. “I’ve enjoyed every moment of my life on stage with all the great artists I’ve been privileged to sing with,” says Dumas who also just performed on legendary gospel conductor Richard Smallwood’s “Anthology” live recording with his musical ensemble Vision. “I’m equally humbled and excited about this new chapter in my life and I look forward to everything God has in store for this new level of ministry for me.”

“I am so proud of Andrea as she drops her very first solo project,” says Smallwood. “What an awesome artist she is! Her gift, her anointing, coupled with the music on this offering that ministers to the soul is bound to make a difference in people’s lives who are blessed to hear it.”

The soul-stirring collection of original songs recently debuted in the Top 30 on the iTunes Christian/Gospel chart and is paving the way for Dumas to become a leader in the arena of praise and worship music. The first radio single “Jesus” was written by Darius Paulk who’s written songs such as “Nobody Greater” (Vashawn Mitchell), “Deeper” (Marvin Sapp) and “I’m Yours” (Zacardi Cortez). The whole production was recorded live at the singer’s home church Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church in Washington, D.C. with an enthusiastic and star-studded audience that included gospel luminaries such as Richard Smallwood, Maurette Brown Clark and Stephen Hurd. Journalist Sarah Hearn called the event “awe-inspiring” in a post concert review for Examiner.com.

The Morristown, New Jersey native has sung in church all of her life and first surfaced on the national stage as a background vocalist for the likes of Grammy Award winner Yolanda Adams and platinum recording artist Donnie McClurkin. Perhaps, she’s been best known as a featured member of Richard Smallwood’s Vision choir for the last decade. She led “God of Promise” on Smallwood’s 2011 Billboard #1 CD “Promises” and has also contributed to the Greater Mt. Calvary’ Recording Choir’s Top Ten Live CD “Live: As Told By The Music Ministry” in the same year.
