Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 1 Timothy 4:7,8 NIV
The devil finds work for idle hands; so do not be idle. Always make yourself busy with things that will benefit you and or others spiritually! So, avoid godless myths and "old wives' tales" etc.! Exercising your body is of some benefit to you; however, exercising yourself spiritually is fully beneficial for all things and in all ways! The choice is yours; the Truth is laid bare before you now. I choose spiritual exercise. Please Help us o Lord to exercise ourselves spiritually in Jesus' Name. Amen!!!
Be above reproach as God's steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain, but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, just, devout, self-controlled, holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict. Titus 1:7-9 NASB
As God's servant, you must strive to be above reproach as in being faultless. You must raise your standard of godliness in holy and righteous living above those you serve. This is the Word of God. No point hiding behind "we are all human" etc.! The Word of God is very clear! The things commonly plaguing mankind you must not get involved with at all so as not to malign the Name of the Lord our God! You must hold fast and firmly to the Truth of the Word of God and teach the same accordingly; thereby upholding the Standard of God! Father, only You Can Help us to do this effectively. We need and ask for Your Help in Jesus' Name. Amen!!!
Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Ephesians 5:25-27 KJV
The Body of Christ is the Love of Jesus Christ and He Loves us so much that He Gave all of Himself to us as our Head. The purpose of Jesus Christ Loving us is to bring us closer to Himself and to present us to Himself as a holy, glorious, purified Body without blemish. This He Does through the washing of the Word of the Living God. Jesus Christ Washes us with the Word of God which is Himself. That means He is "all over us" if we let Him! O Lord, please come all over us with Your Word in Jesus' Name. Amen!!!
Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:12-17 ESV
Persecution is not the preserve of just a few that you hear about. It's for all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus. ALL! Let the evil continue in their evil. But you believer, must continue in the Way of the Lord as Taught to you; never forgetting the example of those from whom you learnt the Way of the Lord and their dedication to the Way and the Word of the Living God! Remember that the Holy Scriptures are Breathed out by God and beneficial for every aspect of life through teaching, reproofs, correction, training in righteousness etc.; so that the servant of the Lord may be completely equipped for every good work in Jesus Christ. (27) "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.' (28) But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (29) If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. (30) And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. (31) "Furthermore it has been said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.' (32) But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery. Matthew 5:27-32 NKJV
Temptation comes to all mankind. It even went to our Lord Jesus Christ! We must follow His example in not yielding to it. That will be the difference between the believer and unbeliever! If you commit yourself to sin, then you are in it. It's not just about the act of sinning . It's also very importantly about the thoughts of it. So, you must kill off sin right from the stage of thoughts, even before speech or action! Cut it all off and avoid anything that would cause you to sin like a plague. As for divorce, God hates divorce. If you divorce your wife, you open her up to adultery if it's not due to sexual immorality. Anyone who marries her commits adultery! Father, please Give us wisdom to live life and for marriage in Jesus' Name. Amen!!!
