The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has given a fresh instruction to all those who support the work of the ministry in his care asking specifically that they should pray that he will not disappoint God.
Speaking at the 29th anniversary of the Holy Ghost service on Friday March 6, at the Redemption Camp in Nigeria, Adeboye, 73, pleaded with the people whom he described as covenant partners to pray and fast for him and the ministry for two days every month.
Unlike before when the partners were asked to fast for one month in the year, Adeboye, who marked his 73rd birthday said he was being led to ask them to just fast for two days every month.
Apart from asking that they should pray that he will not disappoint God, he pleaded with them to always pray for his health, for strength, for fresh anointing and for the grace to finish strong and finish well.
He then went on to call for a monthly financial support for the ministry promising that he will specifically pray for them on a daily basis. He said, “We will be grateful if you can support the work of the ministry on a monthly basis.
For this purpose he informed the partners and those who are interested in becoming one that they are free to join any of the seven groups of partners.
According to him “group one are those who want to support us on a monthly basis with at least N1, 000 Group two will support with N10, 000 a month and above. Group three will support with N50, 000 and above. Group four will support with N100,000 Group five will support with N500,000 Group six will support with N1,000,000 Group seven will support with N5,000,000 and above.
“For those who want to belong to the covenant partners in foreign currency: Group one $10 group two, $100, group three, $500, group four, $1000 above, group five, $10,000, group six, $50,000 and group seven N100,000
While praying that all the partners “will rise as I rise” he said, “don’t be afraid to start small. As you support the work of God your life will make progress. If you start with the lowest amount, God will take you to the next level.
He then pleaded with the partners not to write the cheque of their support in his name noting that such cheque may be taken as a gift for him. “please write the cheque in the name of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.” He said.
….How God healed a difficult child
In the course of the ministration, Adeboye recalled how God healed a university undergraduate who suddenly abandoned school and decided to lock himself in a room.
According to him, the boy locked himself in the room and only opened his door when he wanted them to bring food for him in the room.
“The mother told me that he defecates in the room and eats in the room. She told me that the boy refused to open the door of the room he was staying for two weeks up to the point she came to report the case.
“And she did not want to tell the police because they may take him to a rehabilitation centre which she did not want. So we had to agree together and prayed. By the time she got home, the boy who refused to open his door for two weeks had come out of the room, washed himself and was waiting for his mother to tell him that he was going back to school.”
Adeboye who preached on the topic, “In Christ Alone” assured all the participants at the programme that God was willing to answer all their requests in as much as they full surrender their lives to Him.”
