When did you start singing and did your parents support you?

I’m going to say from birth but professionally about seven years ago and I have come to realize that your parent wouldn’t necessary believe you when you start out, because so many times they don’t want to believe in all those things, but the moment you start to make a living from whatever you have chosen  to do; then  they tend to believe in you once you can prove them wrong.

Do you compose your songs yourself or you have people who write for you?

Yes, to a large extent I do write and I have people who write for me too, as a matter of fact, thr Awimayehu song, I wrote the first verse and my younger brother wrote the second verse.

What should fans be expecting from the music video of Awimayehu?

We are done with shooting the video, it is very much ready, and it will be dropped on the 27^th of March which happens to be my birthday. Expect nothing less than the best from the video.

Some young artistes do complain about working with big artistes, while working with Mike Abdul how did you feel?

To a large extent, Grace and Favour brought me to Mike Abdul; I think it was a divine meeting; because the day I met him I wasn’t supposed to meet him; and since then it has been history. it was a big opportunity  for me and a lot of people are looking up to it. I have come to realize also that even when you have a mentor you don’t beg from your mentor; always see how you can bring something to the table, no matter how old or big your mentor is. Somebody said the greater the problem the greater the solution, the greater the value,  the greater the money.

Who are your mentors in the gospel industry?

I respect Mike Abdul, Gbenga Adenuga and Monique a lot.
                                                           

What should your fans be expecting from you after Awimayehu and where do you see yourself in the next five years?

After Awimayehu, I should drop like five or six singles this year and in the next five years, I see myself where God wants me to be.

                                                                                                                                                                                    

KSB SET TO RELEASE NEW GOSPEL SINGLE FT. MONIQUE | @kennysaintbest @mqmonique

Popular gospel artiste and entertainment entrepreneur, Kenny Saint Best (KSB), recently contested the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries for the ticket to represent the Ikeja 01 constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Even though she didn't win the ticket, she has been visible on the party's campaign train, both at the state and national level.
However, the sensational songstress has returned to the studio, and in this chat with spoke man, she speaks on her forthcoming singles with Monique, others Excerpts...

Many of your fans think you've abandoned music for politics, can you speak on that?
That's not true. For the past few months, I've actually been very busy on the campaign train of my party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), but the truth is that I can do politics and music together. I've expended the neccessary energy on politics when it was needed, and right now, I'm just gliding with the train as a political artiste to push the objectives of the party to the people. Now, the energy is not as intense as before so it can accommodate my own career.

What are you up to now as far as music is concerned?
I'm back in the studio and I'm releasing a new single before the Easter Celebrations. It's titled, 'Ire' and I'll be collaborating with Monique. She's the first female artiste I'll be collaborating with after Essence in 15 years. Co-incidentally, Monique is also my protege, as she and Essence used to be my back-up singers way back in the days. After that, I'll also be working with Tiwa Savage and it'll be dropping for summer.

What influenced your decision to work with Monique?
She's more like my successor in the gospel scene. I watch her, and I hear and see myself in her. She's holding it down in all churches right now. I've left the church crowd for so long because I've been doing street gospel, and its a good thing to go back to my church base now. It's more like we're leveraging on each other. She may not get all the awards that you think everybody should get out there, but she's the one holding down the church scene now; we cannot take it away from her. I respect her energy, and it will be pride on my part not to work with her, that's why I'm humbling myself to do that. You know they say, the hallmark of a successful person is for that person to have a successor. I'm happy that Monique is my successor in the gospel scene, and since I haven't retired, it's a good thing working with her. Guess what, she used to back-up on this same song for me in those days, so when I told her it was the same song I wanted us to work on, she was excited.

Any plans to mentor other young female upcoming gospel artistes?
Yes, I intend to, but because I had a pull towards politics, some of my plans were put in abeyance. However, by the time I stabilise well, and because I want to work with government, I'll do a lot to develop younger artistes, especially the females. Lagos State APC guber aspirant, Akinwunmi Ambode is already making entertainment one of his priorities.
Apart from that, I also intend to have a concert later in the year called 'KSB and her sisters' which would be an all-female affair. There are so many things I have up my sleeves for female acts.

In an interview with Nation Newspaper, Korede Bello talks about his rise to fame, signing with Mavin Records, support from his parents and much more.

On being in the music industry: No, I have never thought of that. And funny enough, I have always wanted to be a footballer or an accountant. I didn’t really see music as a career. Actually, I saw it as a passion and a hobby. I didn’t know I was going to do music professionally until recently, during my secondary school days. I go to the studio doing recording seriously. I started seeing music as my life purpose. I see it as an opportunity to serve humanity.

On being called an upcoming act: When somebody goes to school and is in primary one, will you call the person upcoming student? Or when you just get a job in the bank will you be called an upcoming banker? But for me I will say people are entitled to whatever title they choose to give artistes, but it depends on the artiste; ‘how you see yourself.’ I see myself as a musician, I see myself as a mega super star and that is all that matters. I will advise artistes not to go along with that upcoming title because you might just remain upcoming forever. So you had better see yourself as a musician and a servant to humanity. Is there upcoming pastor? If there is none, why upcoming artiste?

On his signature wink: I don’t know. I just find myself doing it. And there is someone I have in mind whenever I do it. I know pretty much that a particular person I know will be watching it. And that is why I keep doing it. If anyone wants to find out who the person is, I will just say it is you. Whenever you watch me winking in any musical video, I’m winking at you yourself. Trust me.

On his greatest achievement so far: My greatest achievement is to be glorifying God with my song. I recently released a new single called Godwin, and it is being received massively globally and that is my greatest achievement. Whenever people are happily dancing to my song, it really makes me happy. You know, to be able to do a song that the old, and young would be able to listen to and dance to but still be able to glorify God really goes a long way. I am very proud of that and it’s really overwhelming.

The recording and performing artiste cum CEO of a record label ZION MUSIC RECORDZ has really carved a niche for himself in the mainstream of the Nigeria gospel music industry as we can see it. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY SIR?.

DW: Well to God’s mighty glory, have been in music generally for more than a decade now, but as for the gospel music it’s my 9th year.

WOW, QUITE A VERY LONG TIME YOU’VE BEEN HERE AND HOW HAS IT BEEN FOR YOU ALL THROUGH?

DW: Hmmm! It has really been an experience. The ups and down, the low and below, the plenty and none. In short it hasn’t been easy but thank God for grace and strength. Coz if not for God, I would have given up a very long time ago. I had no or little encouragement from people around me, so it wasn’t that easy or easy In any way for me. It was war and a serious one it was. But Thank God am still here.

HMMM! GOD BE PRAISED FOR YOUR LIFE. SO TELL US OR SHARE WITH US ALL THOSE THINGS YOU WENT THROUGH AND HOW YOU WERE ABLE TO OVERCOME THEM.

DW: Where do I start from! Coz they are much. Becoming a star is one thing, becoming a gospel music star for God is the main and major thing, coz it comes with a lot of battles and temptations.

I went through so many things in my life when I was really trying to come up especially when I decamp into the Gospel music industry. All the things I went through that I could remember I will list them below.

• Is seeking first the kingdom of God and letting the other things follow. This is actually a very big and major temptation for anybody in Christ Jesus. Hmmm! How would a young guy like me let go of Gold and silver and wait on rewards. I needed money, clothes and other stuffs too and there are no other ways to get it than letting go of God’s Kingdom and follow the world. Which I actually did and it landed me in the Jail. To follow Christ is not as easy as the sermon being preached, to kill the flesh to for eternal things is not a mere play. But if one truly is serving God, then His will has to be done. So I had to let go and let God.

• Family Background War: For every family there is always a background or foundational spiritual war that must be won before one can succeed in life. I fasted, prayed, and attended vigils and mountains seeking breakthroughs. Countless night vigils and fasting, before we were able to pull off those evil spiritual garments.

• Lack of finance and support: Doing music require music and a lot of help or support, this I wasn’t getting and it was really hard for me to function well. I did so many things to support myself and never gave my dream up. Worked in local restaurant, did menial jobs and others just to sustain myself and career. I did what I could do with the little I have and hoping one day I will be able to do a lot when the money and support finally comes.

• The industry was one and major part of it: our called big and readymade artistes wasn’t and aren’t helping at all. You go to tell and tell them your plight, though not all of them could actually help, but atleast a little commitment to encourage one won’t be a bad idea, but instead, some will discourage you and some are even ready to enslave you in other for you not to pursuit your own vision. I just stayed focus and endured my cross and keep on with the voice I have heard from God. Though it wasn’t easy but you just can’t but to steak with God’s plan.

HMMM! GOD HELP US ALL. WITH 10 LIVE CONCERTS, 2 AWARDS, 2 NOMINATIONS, A RECORD LABEL, AN ALBUM, 18 SINGLES, 2 VIDEOS AND OF RECENT YOU JUST SHOOT ANOTHER VIDEO AND YET YOU SAID IT TOOK YOU 8YEARS BEFORE GOD SENT YOU A SPONSOR OR A MINISTRY HELPER. SO TELL US, HOW WERE YOU ABLE TO ACHIEVE ALL THESE THINGS WITHOUT AN EXTERNAL HELP OR SOMETHING.

DW: Hmmm! It can only be God oo, all these achievement are though through and everything was just by God’s grace and doing. Talking about my concerts, I could remember back then when in school, I was to host a particular concert and I went to a fellow Christian own organization for help, hmmm! The responses wasn’t encouraging at all, I was treated like a strange dog that entered into a man’s compound. It hurt so much and I cried to God and we entered into a covenant “that whatever vision he is going to give me, he must make a provision, otherwise I won’t do it” He took me sometimes and this experience to know that whatever I need to do in the ministry as regarding any vision God has given me, there has been provision for it before it was given, all I need is faith and work to access it.

So I started working on faith and saving up the little that comes my way and I quit seeking for sponsors for my programs especially when it’s a worship project. Once I receive the vision and am convinced about it, I just go straight with the planning, I don’t want until one money comes in before I start something, “I have told several of my friends that money is not the number one thing if one must achieve something in life or a goal, first is a plan, a break down budget, and faith. Once all these are, you there, just with time someone somewhere will just call you to bless you and what next, is to fix the money on the project where it could handle. So this is how I have been living and working my thing until late last year when I was preparing for my album launching. I had done everything as usual, just waiting on God for the rest, doing my daily works and fixing things gradually, just one faithful morning I received a call from the United State from a lover of my music EBUBE DIKE, who actually called to share her testimony of how the song blessed her and the first ever seed I would receive over any of my song came in August 8 2014 and that was the beginning of the new phase of my ministry. Not even from a family or friend ever since 2007 I started my gospel music career has anyone called to bless me for just listening to my music.

GREAT AND MIGHTY GOD. SO WHATS YOUR ADVICE EVERYONE TO EVERYONE IN THIS SAME FIELD AND PROBABLY ABOUT TO GIVE UP COZ THINGS ARE NOT JUST ENCOURAGING.

DW: Well, what more can I say, I think my testimony should be a source of encouragement to anyone so ever in any field in life. Life is not a bed of rose, you have to stand up and fight for what you really believe in. poverty and wealth are choice, and nobody brought it into this world, we all came here and choose which we want for our self. I could have chosen to remain down as life has brought me down in point in time in my life, but I have seen the future and how bright and wonderful it will be if I endure and get there. So many things helped me in life as I am rising and almost getting to where I wanna be in life.

Born ‘Diribey Chidi Richard, this self-acclaimed ‘Commander-In-Chief’ of the Microphone Forces’ who goes by the moniker MC Pashun' recently launched an audio comedy album, “Laugh In Tongues Vol1.”
In this chat with DE CHAMPIONS’S EMMANUEL BABATUNDE, he speaks on his brand of comedy. Excerpts… 

Can you tell us a bit about your background?
I’m a graduate of Psychology from the University of Uyo. I’m from Abia State and my parents are Late Mazi and Mrs. Loveday Diribey. We’re a family of nine children; five boys and four girls; I am the 5th Son and the 8th Child. You can see that my mother is very strong. (Laughs).

When did you join the comedy industry, and can you share your remarkable moments?
I started Stand-Up Comedy full-time in 2008. I’ve performed at Nite of a Thousand Laughs, Uyo, alongside Seyi Law,Gordons,I go Dye, Elenu, Klint d' Drunk among others. I was also specially recommended by Bunmi Davies and Princess to Perform Live at Stand-Up Nigeria concert at Muson Centre, Lagos, on December 26th, 2014.
I have also been privileged to be the first non-indigene to hold the office of Director of Social/Welfare Uniuyo SUG. I was awarded the Best Comedian on Campus, Best Comedian, NYSC Lagos 2013, Best Comedian NYSC Western Contest to mention a few

Have you ever cracked a joke and people didn’t laugh? It has never happened to me. I am one of the few original comedians in the country. I apply Psychology in comedy; I study my audience to know what they will like to hear.

Apart from comedy, what else do you do? Hmm…I can sing, I can Act; I'm also an event planner, and other talents that I’m yet to discover. My new music single, “Donkulu” will hit the airwaves soon with a brand new dance.

What's your advice for young lads coming up in the comedy industry? Education will earn you a living, while talent will earn you a fortune, but you need education as your fixed asset, or else you may be limited. Get on stage whenever possible and show what you’ve got within. Don't steal jokes to make yourself popular; try to create yours too. Attend comedy clubs to watch veterans who will lecture you unconsciously.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?With my present drive, I see myself becoming an indispensable name in Stand-Up Comedy in Nigeria, and by the extension, the world.

Nigerian music producer, composer and singer; Nosa Shadrax Omoregie who is simply known as Nosa is signed onto Chocolate City. Since the release of his début album 'Open Doors,' Nosa has been rocking every radio with a captivating voice and deep lyrics. The Electrical Engineer from Edo State and he bore his mind on a range of issues in music, love and life, read on

Who is the Man Nosa?

"Nosa is a man who sees music like a means to an end; because I stand for peace, love of mankind, and the liberty of all races. I stand for the love of my next door neighbour. That is why my early music mentors are people like Bob Marley and others who used their music to teach about human liberation and salvation just like our Lord Jesus Christ did; which is the main message I share.” So, will Nosa say the likes of Marley are of the same stock with the saviour of the world? “Not at all! That will be taking it a lot to the extreme, all I'm saying is, I love music that has a message and is purpose driven. In fact I want to pass the message of my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ and it happens that music is the only means I have to do so.”

Can we take one more journey to how Nonso arrived at Chocolate City? “Ok, I had released my first single "Always Pray for You," and I was promoting it and I had to move in with my eldest brother who lives in Lekki and he was a next door neighbour to Jeffrey Daniel (the American judge on Nigerian Idol and member of Shalamar). Jeffrey heard my song and fell in love with it and at that point in time, the CEO of Chocolate City, Audu Maikori, was a co -Judge with Jeffrey on Idols; so, he gave my work to him and Audu invited me over, and after listening to my materials, he gave an order to the guys at Chocolate City to take me in at once and the rest like they say is history."

Soon after releasing his album, "Open Doors," the cute-faced singer and producer landed a juicy deal with Close-Up that led to some people saying he has become a brand Ambassador for the well-respected product. Did Nosa get the deal on his own merit or due to the influence of Chocolate City? "First, I am not a Brand Ambassador of Close-Up. My song, "Way you Love Me" was only used for the current television commercial of Close-Up. Listen to the song again and make up your mind if I got it on merit or not. All I can say is Chocolate City has been a wonderful label that has given my talent wings to soar."

For five years, Nosa moved from studio to studio toiling day and night without getting it right. Now that he has delivered an album and arrived at the spotlight, what are the positive and negative surprises that stardom has brought his way? "I have gone pass that stage of life were I get caught up in surprises. I am far more matured and calm; I don't let things take me by surprise. Even when some funny things happen, I take it like a learning process, because I am never afraid of falling forward because that is the only way to move forward. On the positive side, I will say the joy of knowing that I have finally put out an album out there and that I have nothing to prove to anyone again gives me so much joy." 

Nosa's “Open Doors” is no doubt a matured cocktail of different genre and lyrics; a clear indication of the man's maturity, but debuting his album at this point were teen sensations seem to be the in-thing; does Nosa have any worry about this? "Not at all; like we said earlier, I took five years to put this album together and my songs are not just about dance. I have songs for everybody and every mood in the album. The kind of songs the younger ones are doing are basically for parties, but in "Open Doors" album, you will find songs for every situation. In fact, people who do not like my kind of music are not humans because no man can dance for ever because you must get tired. But when you touch a man's emotions with a strong message, you have touched him forever.”

Given the years it took Nosa to break through, what personal mistakes will he say he made that delayed the early birth of his career “I will say lack of experience and the anxiety to put out my work pushed me into signing some deals that I came to discover were not good for me and I had to pay for them with time.” Speaking of labels and regrets that come from bad contracts, what has the case been with his present label Chocolate City? "There is only one pressure and problem with Chocolate City, and that is the pressure on me to better my craft. I mean, look at the quality of talents in the label. Just take a look at what MI has done with Hip Hop; it is legendary, so I am enjoying myself and the pressure to do better."

Now that Nosa has arrived the promise land, is there any Eve with him to help run his empire? "No doubt, there is a woman in my life but we are waiting for the right time to make it official."

Many a time, Nigerian young talents are always cut short by their excessive love for night life and liquor; what words does Nosa have for other young talents on this and other issues, and what is he doing to ensure he does not fall into the same trap? "I will like to point out something; the life you live when you hit stardom is simply a reflection of who you are. Stardom does not change anybody; it only helps to show who you really are. For me, I like staying around work; if you see me out, it is strictly for shows and I am back home…' From speaking the truth about an artiste's life, it was time for Nosa to speak to the young talents that are still bubbling underground. "For that hustling talent on the street, all I have to say to them is, it pays to suffer when you are maximizing your potential because the breakthrough will come. If for any reason you are suffering on something that does not bring out your potential, you just have to quit," he concluded emphtically.

MY HUSBAND DUMPED BOXES OF CHARMS INTO A RIVER AFTER HE ACCEPTED JESUS

Ex-Ondo First Lady, Mrs Adetutu Adefarati and Vicar of Holy Trinity Church Akungba, Ondo State Nigeria, Venerable Timothy Akerele at the 2014 synod of the diocese

Adetutu Adefarati was the wife of Chief Adebayo Adefarati the former governor of Ondo State in Nigeria, who died seven years ago at the age of 76. In this interview with Church Times, Mrs. Adefarati shares her salvation experience and her experience in government as the first lady of Ondo State.

You sounded quite spiritual and knowledgeable in the things of God while addressing delegates at the 3rd session of the 10th synod of the Akoko Diocese of the Anglican Church. What is your experience of God?

I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour precisely in 1988. It happened in Akure. There was an outreach by the Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship. I was at the programme and it was that day I gave my life to Christ. But just some days after, something happened which I did not expect. Somebody who God used me to nurture had turned against me. I was annoyed with the person. I began to nurse grudges against this person. As I was thinking about it, I heard some songs ministered to me and I wondered where the songs were coming from. I followed the source of the song and found out that it was from a fellowship gathering around where we were living. I joined the fellowship that day. Incidentally, my children urged me to follow them to the same church the following day which was a Saturday.

It was at the programme the minister of God mentioned my case. He said, “You are still thinking of what that person did to you. You better open up and forget about it. Let Christ deal with every situation. There and then I let go and forgave that person that had made me annoyed. While we were praying I felt something come upon me. It was the Holy Spirit. That was how I was baptized with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues.

Interestingly, my husband did not object to my going to the church. That was how I fell in love with God and it has been glorious ever since.

Was your husband in politics then?

He had been in politics ever since. He was doing it in the background even as a civil servant. It was when he retired from civil service that the then governor of Ondo State, Michael Ajasin made him a commissioner.

You said he allowed you to worship God the way you wanted?
He allowed me and the children to worship God. When the military took over power in 1983, he was arrested along with Pa Michael Ajasin. They were in detention for 18 months. But God supported us throughout that period. We were attending the fellowship and serving God. When he came back he joined us after so much prayer.

I’m sure he also had an encounter in the prison. Before he went to detention he was always supporting us. We were praying and fasting for him to give his life. He was born to a Christian home. The father was a layreader, the mother the matron of the church but he was not born again as it were. So we kept praying for him. There was one brother Taye Abe who was working on him too. God answered our prayers. After much persuasion he decided to join us in the fellowship. That was when he gave his life to Christ formerly.

The day he gave his life to Christ was a glorious day. That same day God gave him a miracle. He has been using glasses. But the very night he gave his life to Christ, God healed him. He wanted to read papers that night and water was coming out of his eyes. He cleaned it and put on the glasses again and water kept pouring out again. He now let go the glasses. That was how he was healed. Since then till he died at the age of 76 seven years ago he did not use glasses. That was the miracle God gave him at conversion. Thank God for him because he held to his salvation. And this helped the family. We see ourselves as one. The extended family and the people who worked with us when he was governor experienced this. Some of our aides also surrendered their lives to Christ.

But how did you pull through those years in politics with your husband?

My husband made it clear to everybody around him that he was not going to use any charm. Even when people came to him to tempt him he turned them down. During his days as commissioner in the second republic he had not given his life to Christ. It was when he came back from detention that we knew he must have had an encounter that now led to his salvation. When he came back he had to throw away charms. We had two boxes full of charms which he threw away in a river around us here.

And there was no reprisal from his group when he left the world?

No. There could have been if he had been in a cult. But he was not in any cult though he was not a Christian. I did not meet him in any cult and he did not take part in any cult meeting. When he died people were expecting that cult members would come around to claim his body. But they were disappointed.

What lessons did you learn being in government and relating with people?

I thank God. If I write my experience in government I would not be able to finish it. Being in government made me know people; and more about people. When people laugh with you be careful because they may not be sincere. But I count myself as a blessed woman because the women of Ondo State were out to support me and they supported that government. Many of them came around and gave useful counsel. Even when the intrigues against baba started it was one of them who came around to tell us. My husband loved everybody to a fault. He did not believe in rumours that helped him a lot.

But what is it about being in government that those of us outside don’t understand. Many people believe that those in government don’t do anything that they are just there to steal money. I’m sure there was similar complaint about your husband?

It’s common for people to have such notion. We had such experience too. Even when my husband wanted to work, the powers that be did not release funds to him. He was able to go into the archives and had useful information about the oil wealth of Ondo State. He discovered some of the oil wells were being exploited by some other oil producing states. He tried to get these back. A committee was set up and it made investigations and it was clear the oil wells were for Ondo State. But the powers that be did not release funds due to the state. He was always going to Abuja almost every week. He was frustrated but the little funds that accrued to the state were used judiciously. He ran a welfarist government. Rather than give contract to one person, he gave it to a consortium of people.

Those who understood knew what was happening. But there are those who just wanted to blackmail government. Sometimes I wonder what people think. When they see that you are in government they think you should be doling out money.

I can imagine your experience in that area?

I think we should appreciate government for what they do that we see rather than castigate them and expect them to dole out money for personal gratification. There was a man my husband gave series of contracts but this man kept telling people my husband did not empower them. People will always talk about government not performing.

If you are recall, can you share one or two lessons people can learn from you as a former first lady?

One should be hundred percent supportive of her husband in prayers. When we were in government we did not joke with prayers. That was our backbone. As a first lady see everybody as one. Don’t look down on anybody.

From what you went through would you still recommend that Christians should go into politics?

They should join politics but hold to their salvation. They should not tell lies. They should not take undue credit. They should be transparent. Except somebody is greedy, as a governor of the state you don’t need to steal. It is important you do your job and don’t allow people to influence you negatively. There were contractors who did not execute projects given to them and they still came around to ask for more money. A Christian will not allow that. Greed should also be avoided. It is not in the Bible of Christians.

What fond memory do you have about your husband?

A lot. We have put behind us seven years since he died. He was very nice and accommodating. He had rapport with everybody. When he was the governor of this state he picks his phone and would give attention to people as he had the opportunity. We don’t get such things these days.

You are a member of the Akoko community. What do you think about the community?

I’m an ijesha woman but since I’m married to them here I see myself as an indigene of Akungba which is also in Akoko. I believe this community deserves to be developed.

The theme of the synod of the Akoko Diocese of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion is: This same Jesus. What do you have to say about this theme?

The theme of the synod is apt. When people say there is no God I wonder where they got that from. Without Jesus there is no Christianity. He was the one who reconcile us to God. I’m a testimony that God exist. I have had cause to tell people that God has a special ways of answering the prayers of widows. The prayers of widows are answered quickly. But you just have to accept this Jesus into your life. I’m not a saint but I have my righteousness in Christ Jesus. He is faithful. A lot of things have been happening since the demise of my husband but God has not allowed us to suffer for one day. My husband left a good name. In terms of money we may not be there but we are contented with what we have.

You are not interested in politics?

I’m not into politics. I loved to play the behind the scene role when my husband was alive and was actively involved in politics. One of my children is trying to go into politics but for me no way. But then I don’t see people around playing the game the way it should be played. What we have now is lies and boot licking. I can’t tell lies.

What is your own perspective of the abduction of the girls from the government school in Chibok?

It’s unfortunate. Many of us whose children are not involved are already devastated by the abduction not to talk of the parents of the children involved. We hear all sorts of stories. What we can only do is to pray for them.

Nancey Jackson Johnson's passion for God and ministering to people infuses her new CD, The Heart of Nancey Jackson Johnson, slated for release summer 2014. The title of the CD is linked to her passion for God and all that He has brought her through. "This is a heart thing; it's a glimpse of my heart for God."

The new CD features an all-star team of producers, including GRAMMY Award-winning Kevin Bond, Asaph Ward, Clay Bogan, and PAJAM. The new single, A Little Longer, tugs at her heartstrings and propels her to get closer to God. "Whenever I get overwhelmed with life, it reminds me that God just wants my time. He wants me to stop and spend time with Him to get replenished," she says. God says sometimes you need to just chill, that there's wisdom and joy in His Presence. Every time I play it or sing A Little Longer, it's about the encounter with God."Nancey also adds, "I really enjoy the presence of the Lord, and this CD strengthens my walk with God and really demonstrates my insatiableness for His Presence."

Another single from the new CD, I'm Free, was previously released to radio.

"I'm Free expresses who I am," explains Nancey. "The Bible says those who Jesus Christ frees are free indeed."

"I've been set free from fear, from low self-esteem, from rejection, from people and their opinions of me. So I'm not ashamed to give God everything. I'm not ashamed to break it down like David did. I'm radical because I'm redeemed."

The nationally known artist with a signature voice and a four- octave range was

born the youngest of six children in Newark, New Jersey, to a pastor/father and a loving Godly mother. Nancey began singing in her family's church choir at age six. "I come from a musical family," she says, "but I also grew up in a wonderful period of the ‘70s. Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, the Hawkins family—they were my foundations."

Despite the kaleidoscopic influences on her music, Nancey is adamant that biblical references underscore every song she ministers. In addition to a firm foundation and influence of family, she had strong local industry support from key artists and producers like the Rev. Milton Biggham, the Rev. Jeff Banks and the Revival Temple Mass Choir, Alvin Darling and Dorothy Norwood. These respected individuals in the gospel music community saw her talent early on and shared their platforms by positioning her with lead vocal recordings and special appearances.

This new CD is not Nancey's first foray into the gospel music industry. In 1997 Harmony Records signed her to a recording contract through Sony Music distribution. Her debut album, Free, Yes I'm Free, followed.

It yielded the successful title single as well as the radio hits My Soul and Set Time of the Hour. Her sophomore offering, Relationship, featured an all-star production team, including GRAMMY Award-winner Michael J. Powell; Stellar Award-winners Tonex, PAJAM, and Fred Hammond; and Dawkins & Dawkins. The album produced the infectious hit Crazy Praise and earned the artist of impeccable and passionate vocal prowess a Stellar Award nomination.

As enthused as Nancey is about her ministry and music, she is also just as fervent about her family. She and her husband Samuel have been married for nearly 13 years and are blessed with two sons.

The 2000s became a time of tremendous personal growth for Nancey, as she took an extended break from the never-ending bustle of recording albums and touring. "I was growing as a woman, as a mother, and as a wife," she explains. "There were many things I discovered about myself during those ten years. Things I was once fearful of doing, God stretched me, and I am now doing them."

Nancey discovered she had untapped gifts for directing choirs and teaching vocal dynamics. For six years, she and Samuel produced "Praise 732,"' an open mic event for Christian artists. In 2003, Nancey became an ordained and licensed minister; she currently serves as director of the creative arts ministry at Greater St. John M.E.R. in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

During her break, Nancey kept connected to the gospel music industry. She recorded Prayer Song for Haitian relief with Kim Burrell and Krishnar Lewis. She joined her high school music teacher, the Rev. Stefanie Minatee and Jubilation Choir, in recordings of Lead Me to the Rock (2006) and He's Everything to Me(2011). Nancey's contribution to Rev. Minatee and Jubilation's Launch Out Project earned her a second Stellar nomination, for Traditional Female Artist. She went on to contribute the lovely Just for Who You Are to Judith Christie McAllister's Sound the Trumpet in 2011.

Nancey's connection with GRAMMY Award-winning Pastor Donnie McClurkin eventually led her back to a solo career. In 2006, she had the awesome privilege of doing background vocals for McClurkin in Lagos, Nigeria. She sang All We Ask on his 2009 Verity release, We All Are One (Live in Detroit). McClurkin then invited Nancey to record her third album on his new label, Camdon Music. "He said, ‘I want to present a platform for you. Because God has blessed me so much, I feel it is my time to help someone else.' I thought that was huge for him to extend that offer to me."


Today the heart of Nancey Jackson Johnson is filled with gratitude. "I am a living, breathing, walking miracle," she says today. "I know God is alive and I know that God is real."

Diagnosed with heart failure during her first pregnancy, Nancey has witnessed God heal her heart physically and spiritually. Her passion for serving God and doing all He has called her to do is unwavering.

She is a 21st century minstrel whose brave-hearted mission in life now centers around ministry first...then music. "It's awesome to embark upon this season again," she says, "it's a privilege to be able to spread the gospel message to the world."

Pastor Gbenga Efueye and his wife, Ruth provides a perfect combination for ministry work. They are love birds and they seem to flow on the same frequency and they both pastor Victory Cathedral based in Ikorodu Lagos Nigeria. In this interview with CHURCH TIMES NIGERIA Efueye reveals the secret of the bond between him and his wife.

My growing up

I’m of both Itsekiri and Sapele origin. I live my early life in Lagos. I attended both Ikeja Grammar School and the then Federal School of Art and Science for my Advance Level program. I also attended Bethel Bible College and Life Theological Seminary which is affiliated to the University of Ibadan for studies in Pastoral theology.

Pastoral work, not in my plan

I did not have an inkling that I would be a pastor. I surrendered my life to Christ in 1987 at the Glory Christian Centre and worked in the church for some time before I travelled out of the country. I was in Libya doing business and making money but I was not happy. I knew there was a void in me. In the course of doing business in Lbya, I heard a voice speak to me that until I do God’s work I would not have peace. I then came back to Nigeria. Unfortunately I forgot about the encounter I heard and relied on the money I made from my stay in Libya. I ordered for vehicles and wanted to start selling vehicles. But the person who was supposed to help with the importation was only able to send one vehicle despite the huge amount of money I sent to him.

I eventually cleared the vehicle from the port. Rather than sell I turned it to a commercial bus and started driving it myself to make money. I was combining it with my service in God’s vineyard. The vehicle kept giving problem. In the course of all these, I began to have a strong desire for God’s word. I thank God for the kind of background I heard with pastor James Iruofuga of the Glory of Christian Centre. God used him to lay a good foundation for me. It was in the course of attending Bethel Bible College in Aja that I met one of the pastors in the college who invited me to work with him in his church. That was how I began pastoral work.

How I met my wife

I had prayed to God that I wanted a wife that would complement my work in the ministry. It so happen that I went to the embassy at a point to secure visa to travel out of the country. But the visa was not granted. I met a man at the embassy who God used me to help with some money and he was able to secure his visa. The man was really appreciative of my gesture and we became friends. Incidentally, my wife was the teacher of the man’s daughter. It was when I went visiting that I met the man’s wife who later introduced me to my wife. We got talking and we eventually married. It happened that she was in the choir in her church and I had told God I wanted a woman who could sing so that she would be a great support for my ministry.

How to trust God for a life partner

When one is trusting God for a life partner, God wants us to be specific and tell him what we want. But telling God what we want should not be to gratify the flesh. We should not be carnal in being specific. In my case I wanted a woman who will complement my ministry, who will be able to lead praise and worship sessions very well. So when she came my way I knew she was the one for me. There is a kind of relationship we will have with God that He will give you what you want in accordance with his will. And that has been my experience.

My experience in marriage

My marriage has been sweet. But I must emphasise that though it is sweet, and a bed of roses, that does not mean we don’t have our moments of disagreement. Any pastor that says he has not had a quarrel with his wife is a liar. Pastors who make such claims are making things difficult for their congregation.

Any marriage where the couples don’t have occasional disagreement is a marriage of deceit. There is no how there will not be argument or disagreement. There was the case of a couple who were quarrelling and the man took off from the house to report his wife to the pastor only to meet the pastor having serious fight with his wife. He simply turned back from the pastor. My wife and I are so close that I don’t feel comfortable whenever she travels or I travel without her. We are always together and she has been a great blessing to my life.

Why marriages of pastors crash

The reason some pastors are kicking out their wives is because many of the people who carry the tag pastor are half baked and they don’t have genuine salvation experience. Many are not mature in faith and in character. Any couple in a relationship should have it in mind that there will be offenses. The word forgive comes from two words, for and give. It means give ahead, forgive ahead. People will offend you. You must learn to forgive ahead of the offence.

There is also need to express bottled up anger in a mature way. Under no circumstances should a Christian divorce his spouse. The man or woman could separate if there are life threatening circumstances in the marriage pending the time the problem would be solved. But they should not divorce. Many pastors who divorce their wives have the problem of lust.

My ministry

God called me to preach the word of truth that brings victory. I believe that Christians should be able to draw the line between what the devil does and what they allow by their own carelessness and disobedience. We started our ministry in 1995 and since then the Lord has been adding to us. It has been a whole lot of experience for me as a person.

Unfortunately, today many people come into ministry for want of what to do. I believe so much in the ministry of the word. I believe that the person who gives you money, cloth or food is not the person doing you favour but the person who shows you the way to eternal life. Knowing the way of life and the assurance of heaven while living on earth is the greatest thing that can happen to any man. One of the challenges I have had in ministry is to make people see God first in their lives before any other thing.

MEET BUSAYO AKINLOTAN: FEMALE GOSPEL TALKING DRUMMER.

What a man can do, a woman can do even better, so they say. When Church Portal met with Busayo Akinlotan aka Bhussie Halulah, the fast rising female gospel artiste who plays talking drum with passion. In this interview with our correspondence, she share with us her passion for the male dominated instrument .

CP: Can we meet you?

Bhussie: My name is Akinlotan Busayo aka Bhussie Halulah, Accounting student of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti.

CP: You play a very unusual instrument especially for a lady, talking drum, how do you come about it?

Bhussie: Actually I played drums when I was young though I stopped for a while then after my exams, I started playing it again: it was then I developed interest in talking drum.

CP: Have you been intimidated before being a male dominated area of interest?

Bhussie: Not really, you know when you are doing something you have passion for and you are focus, nothing can intimidate you. I remembered when I started playing talking drums, it looks like wasting of precious time, but now when people hear Bhussie Halulah, they will say oh, the female talking drummer, so that’s how it is.

CP: What has been keeping you going?

Bhussie: It is God.

CP: Is there any encouragement from your siblings or your parents?

Bhussie: Now, yes but when I started, no, my dad use to call it Un-necessary activity then, he will say ‘your siblings are in school and you are there playing talking drums’, but I was focused?

CP: Have you been to any reality show before to showcase this talent?

Bhussie: No

CP: Are you planning to give it a trial?

Bhussie: I don’t think so

CP: You have been signed under Zion Music Record Label, what are your projections?

Bhussie: We are working on a project.

CP: Do you have a group or you usually perform as a solo artist?

Bhussie: Zion Records are not just managing me, they are family, so we work together, anything that we want to do, we do together. Though I am planning to set up a group, it will be under the management.

CP: Do you play the talking drum in church?

Bhussie: Yes in school

CP: What about home?

Bhussie: Each time I am around, I do play in my church.

CP: We need to see more of you probably in a concert or what do you think?

Bhussie: Zion Music Record Label is working on a project; I believe by His grace, you’ll see me then.

What do you hope people can learn from your career path?

I hope people will learn to never give up, be patient, follow God and to never sell yourself out just for fame. God’s word says that, “our gift will make room for us”. So, stand with God and on Holy word.

What has been your greatest lesson in life?

One of my greatest lessons has been to be patient and trust the promise. It may not be the right time and I may not understand why things may go a certain way but in the end it will work out for my good.

Who is your hero and why?

My mother is my hero. I come from a musically inclined family where my parents and grand parents had the opportunity to do music full time and professionally but the sacrificed to provide for their family. My mother has sacrificed so much to push me to follow my dreams, her dreams, the dreams of my grand parents and great-grand parents and now I have the opportunity to make dreams a reality.

What encourages you to get up and go on?

Do you have a mantra Knowing that today will soon be yesterday,tomorrow will be today, everyday is another chance to be better, think better, live better, dream bigger and to make a difference. When life is hard and I want to give up I tell myself, “I’m going to make it, find your light in the dark because it’s always there” “I WILL choose life, happiness, positivity, I have that power and right”!

What Is the mist shocking fact about you that people don’t know?
I’m very frugal. If I can do it, then I will.

What do you want to do this year?

Like to go on a vacation because although I’ve traveled the world I’ve never really had a moment to relax.

How has this project/ time in your life changed you and made you better?
The project has strengthened my relationship with God and patience. He allowed different things to happen in my life at different moments of the recording process that allowed to write these songs and the only through it was to communicate with Him and write.

What do you want your fans to know?

I want my fans to know that I am just like you! We are each other’s keeper. Many times I’ve faced hard trials feeling alone and I never want any to feel alone. So I encourage everyone to find the “light in the dark”. No matter how hard, dark or rough life may be. Speak positive, think positive. You choose to be happy and optimistic. There’s always something to smile about and be thankful for. I want my music to be uplifting and encouraging. Light in the dark is not just and album title or a song it’s a lifestyle. I love you all! Let’s be the “light in the dark” for each other.

I NEVER WANTED TO BE THE LEADER OF REDEEMED CHURCH – ADEBOYE

The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye shocked his numerous members on Friday when he declared that he never wanted to be a Pastor.

Daddy G.O, as he’s fondly called gave this shocking revelation during the just concluded April edition of the Holy Ghost Congress.

The soft-spoken preacher disclosed that he initially outrightly refused to be ordained a pastor by the founder of the church, the late Rev. Josiah Akindayomi.


Adeboye in a message entitled, “Great and mighty seeds” said becoming a preacher was the last thing on his mind when he came to the church.

According to him, “But not long after, Papa Akindayomi said I was going to be ordained pastor. I was not prepared to become a pastor. I was satisfied with just coming to the church to worship and go home,” he said.

The clergyman said he was shocked when the founder called him a few years after to tell him he had been ordained to take over the mantle of leadership from him.

”I couldn’t say no to him immediately. So when I got back to the University of Ilorin where I was a lecturer, I wrote a letter to the founder, telling him to appoint someone else. I was prepared to assist whoever turned out to be his choice. Papa was an illiterate, he couldn’t read. Thank God, the one who read the letter to him is here on the platform tonight; Pastor David Kuo,” he stated.

In his sermon, the former university don noted that some people were born great, some others become great through labour while others have greatness entrusted upon them.


”A classical example of people who combined the three categories was Elisha,” he said.

He sighted that even after death, the bones of Elisha were still strong enough to raise the dead.

Adeboye said another example of someone who combined the three categories was Jesus Christ, backing his points with several biblical references including Matthew 3, Luke 1:30-33, Acts 10:38, Philippians 2:5-11, John 1:11-12 and Romans 8:16-17.

'GOD'S NOT DEAD' ACTOR KEVIN SORBO SAYS FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST HAS COST HIM MOVIE ROLES IN HOLLYWOOD... am not voting for obama

When "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" star Kevin Sorbo recently promoted his new Christian film, "God's Not Dead," he revealed that expressing his strong Christian faith has cost him multiple acting gigs in Hollywood. In a recent article, Sorbo also said be believes he is being blacklisted because he is neither a Democrat or a Republican.

"I mean I'm an independent in Hollywood. I've voted Democratic in my life, I've voted Republican in my life. I'm one of the few people I think in Hollywood who actually comes out and says 'Hey, you know what, I vote for who I think is the best person, period,'" said Sorbo to BeliefNet.

The 55-year old actor further expressed his thoughts on why he is neutral when it comes to the two major political parties in the U.S. As a result, he has faced some hardship in his journey as a actor in Hollywood.

"I'm not a party guy. There are people on both sides of the political fence that I don't agree with. To me, I look to see who I honestly think is going to be the best person. So, that, in itself, is enough to get me blacklisted in Hollywood...They scream for tolerance, They scream for freedom of speech but it you disagree at all with what they're saying then they can blacklist you. They have the power to do that," said Sorbo to The Epoch Times.

The Minnesota native also expressed how viewpoints have directly affected his career.

"There's also negativity towards people who aren't liberal. There's no question that it has hurt me in Hollywood that I didn't vote for Obama," said Sorbo to Fox News. "There's so much bashing going on in the media and world for people who believe in God. I'm just not afraid of the [politically correct] crowd I'll go right back at them."

Sorbo explained that he does not get disappointed when people have a different opinion than his own.

"I get it. I understand that but, on the same side, it's like 'Okay, why can't I have an opinion? Why does that cost me jobs?' I mean there's so much anger ... in Hollywood. It's weird. Their arguments aren't logical. They aren't based on fact. If you hit people up with facts, they just say you're wrong and they don't give reasons why you're wrong," said Sorbo to The Epoch Times.

Sorbo is a very outspoken Christian who is never ashamed of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. The former "Andromeda" star recently spoke to BreatheCast about multiple topics including playing Prof. Radisson in the new Christian film and his viewpoint regarding Christians criticizing other Christians and misinterpreting the Bible.

"You have extremes on both sides," said Sorbo to BreatheCast. "Whack jobs on all sides, if you are truly a Christian in my mind you don't condemn people who say they're Christian, you shouldn't condemn anybody anyway. The whole idea is to love your neighbor as you love yourself, but the problem is a lot of people don't love themselves."

For the benefit of your readers can u run us through your background?
Hhumm Hummm. #Clearing throat#, well I was born in the almost very late 80's in Lagos to the family of Dabo's. Am from a family of many, but from my mother's very own side we are four and am the second prince. Had part of my primary education here in Lagos and the rest in Ibadan and completed my secondary education also in Ibadan. To God's glory am a certified business Administrator from one of the universities in Nigeria *name not disclosed*. I spent most of my life here in Lagos before I had to travel to my home village in 1998 for my grandma's funeral with my mum which later leads to her death in 2001 'May Her soul rest in Peace'. And that's how my story began.

What made you choose gospel music and how did you started?

As far as I can remember I didn't choose gospel music. Music for me generally started after the death of my mum in my hometown back then, I used to have a group of then, we were 4 in number, so there is dis particular guy called NIYI a.k.a EJO who is so talented in Fuji music and he was my close friend then, so whenever he sings I play d cover of the pot to it, while other backup and record via my tape recorder then, so not so long after it started getting into me, before I knew it I started singing Fuji, to cut d story short, I started my music career as a Fuji singer but initially I had always wanted to be a Banker and a movie actor cause I was and still so good in acting. So before I knew it, I have started composing Fuji songs, so I did Fuji for like 4years, but within this four years I peeped into the gospel world but wasn't stable cause I had no vision for it. So in the middle of 2004 I have had some composition of gospel and also Fuji songs. so in that same year my dad came back from Europe after so many years, so when he came back, he was told all I do is singing up and down the street, "yes I remembered this, they use to called me Shanko, KonKonlo or Double-star back then OMG what a name". So shall when my dad heard that, he made a promise to me that I shouldn't worry that when I come back to the city, he was going to produce, promote and everything me, not knowing he was just joking, this made me to compose so many songs just for me to get back to him and be scolded for not focusing on my education but music. I felt so disappointed and down that it took me over a month to heal that pain. Well life goes on. So I was enrolled back into another school, where I dropped my Fuji singing thing to create an R'n'B group called "SOUL MATE" but honestly na me scatter the group myself with fight. But within the period I was in that school, I had feature in a movie already "JOMBO 2" as Olalekan Friend". Hmmmm, after d group separation, I went back to my Fuji thing, until one faithful Day God met with me through a friend who saw beyond what I was seeing and brought me a message of HOPE. That day I was preached to and was made to understand that God's master plan for me is beyond singing Fuji, that what I am doing now is the counterfeit which the devil and situation has presented to me as being "THE MASTER PLAN". Hmmm what a word that will forever live in my heart. Sooner than I think, I was converted and my first real gospel composition was called "MASTER'S PLAN". So in 2006 I will say gospel music started for me but not until 2007 that I had to move to my aunt's place, as a baby Christian and gospel mende, all I wanted to do then was to sing and make money quickly and live a sweet life and help people also, but we sure all know that the kingdom of God is following process before you can get success. But this I didn't know and my desperation to be known quickly and make money due to my Fuji mentality landed me in Prison for 3weeks due to my involvement in yahoo, after my release, my brother who was a gen second in a university fellowship came home and picked me cause I was the only one staying in a 4bedroom flat and no one to caution and mentor me and this was in mid-2009. So immediately I processed my university admission and was into the school Diploma program where I did my two diplomas. Now my university experience was where I totally surrender all to Christ, after my re-dedication, on my way to my hometown, God met with me again and this was where I was re given the mandate "To connect Man2God with Music" And that same year, with all glory to God, I and my crew were the first second of undergraduate student to organize a concert in the school and we had more than 350 students turning up for the event "IN MY LITTLE WAY evening praise concert". So I can say in 2009 I started gospel music minister and professionally. But gospel music for me started back in 2007 with the first gospel group I created then "SOLDIERS OF CHRIST".

For how long have you been in the gospel music industry and what are the things that keep you moving?

Gospel music for me "It’s been 8years of God's Faithfulness". Many things keep me going: But first of all God's promises, via His words and prophecies for my life. And another strong thing that keeps me moving is when I look back to all I have gone through, the food less night, cold night and all those pains that I went through especially for my mum. Bros If I give up, and then what is my gain? So is better for me to fight it to the end and see the glory. They use to say at the end of every tunnel there is always a light, so am willing to walk it through till I see the light. I can't give up; cause I have gone too far from where I started from, even if is just yesterday, I know I have gone far.

Who are your role models in the gospel circle?
Hmmmm. But honestly they are plenty, as in won po gan. Can't just mention all but will try.

2. Mike Abdul
3. Psalmos
4. Pv Idemudai
5. Toeyoursea.
6. Bunmi Divine and many more, but now I will like to give the credit to my own PP "Psalm Ebube" he has really influenced me in a lot of ways".

How has it been, been a manager of Zion Music record?

Well currently it is work. You know it’s a new label, so we are working so hard, so that people won't say when "Him too has record label" you know all this mockery saying now. So it’s really demanding, but the truth is that am happy, cause it’s a dream come true, so also the artiste under the label OLUWATOMI S.U Drapman.

In all the songs you have released or featured so far, which one do think as the highest hit and made you known by people?

How do you get your inspiration?

 

These are the things that trigger my inspiration most times, if not from any of these, then I am just free styling. *******
1. GOD: The Alfa & omega of everything that has happened to me.
2. LIFE: it’s a rare opportunity for one to be alive. So every each day that comes around, am inspired to do something.
3. PROPHECIES: The word of God spoken through His oracles to me concerning my life.
4. MY PURPOSE: The reason why i am here on earth.
5. MY FUTURE: The untold and unfold story of my greatness.
6. MY BACKGROUND: What my family thinks about me, especially their bad tot about me.
7. CHALLENGES: The ups and down of life.
8. My coming Generation: Don’t want to fail them.
9. PEOPLE: The ones who have betrayed me, written me off, promised me and failed the ones who have been of great help and support to me and also the ones depending on me.
10. THE GOOD & THE BAD TIMES When I think about all these things, am inspired.

Singing: JEHOVAH turns my life around, Jehovah turns my life around, he makes a way where there is no way. Lol, abeg na Joke and faith I dey oh. What are your next moves now?


Talking has Zion Music Record manager: Well, to God be the Honour and Glory, we just had an anniversary concert for Dabo Williams who recently marked 8years in gospel music. In some due time we will be releasing his debut album titled "GRACE& MERCY”. And also different singles from the signed act OLUWATOMI. And very soon also by God's Grace we will be shooting a new video for one of Dabo Williams Single that is out there. And also if you are following us of recent, we just launched our award brand "ZION GOSPEL MUSIC AWARD -ZIGMA... Celebrating the hard work of our youngsters. And the award is strictly for the upcoming ones. So a lot is still coming in from us to the world if Christ permit’s. As you know, this year is the year for every serious and prepared mind.


Can you tell us more about your new album you are set to release?
GRACE& MERCY is another album that is unique, it’s might to some people not sound different from what you have been hearing, but this album consist tracks that will take you back to the spirit of gratitude. It’s just a unique album of it’s own. Not competing with other albums but imposing on the same love message preached from other albums you might have listened to. But one thing I can tell u is that every track in "GRACE& MERCY album is minister to u, either in praise or worship, u will be ministered to. Which is Produced by different young and anointed music producers. Just watch out!!!


What should we be expecting from you this year?
Please all I want you to expect from me this year is importation. Cause this is what we are set out to do this year. To positively impart many lives as possible as we can. And I believe with your support we can make a change in the gospel industry

Why I relocated to Lagos…
 I was born in Lagos. I grew up in Lagos till I got married and my husband was transferred to Ibadan. And we lived in Ibadan for ten years; ten eventful years. I believe this Lagos step is a spiritual one. I may not use the right words, but what I mean is that it is a leading of the spirit. I did not just plan or scheme it; it just always was impressed on my heart to do. And it has been five years. It always came and went. We tried, and rescinded. We left it there. When it is time, we would know, my husband said. And we believe now is the time, please don’t ask how we knew, it’s beyond verbal explanation. And the provision was made available. I believe God Knows best. Lagos is a land of opportunities. I know that. But I believe in opportunities following me to the land I am in; the opportunities of the land I am in to be mine. It is about where God wants us to be. And I had so much peace and fulfillment living in Ibadan. I am not confused. I trust God, and I believe, deep in my depth, that I am taking a step I must take.
